Andrew weber

A fan of pop music, Andrew spent 6 years at a Lismore catholic boarding school in the early 1980’s’ where a majority of the students were listening to Bruce ‘The Boss’ Springsteen and Andrew was the complete opposite embracing the British New Wave, in particular, Duran Duran. After a self taught start to his music career playing the drums and picked in the school junior showband as a vocalist, he then ventured down another self taught path this time a fascination with synthesizers and samplers.

Having finished school and returned back home to the ‘Big Smoke’ Sydney, Andrew joined 3 kiwi’s in original bands Play Centre and M.I.D. Mistaken Identity. After moving to the Mid North Coast in 2001, he was a founding member of SoundEstate, a pop/rock covers band bringing to the region the first electronic Yamaha drum kit. SoundEstate were one of the most in demand acts, performing at over 40 venues before moving to the USA in 2010.

It was in the USA that Andrew again pushed the boundaries of Digital Audio technology and sampling, and produced the backing tracks that the revitalised SoundEstate return with their 80’s Retro show.

Nikki Rudge

A long time vocalist and more recent guitarist, Nikki was born in the UK in the very late 60’s, a proud Gen Xer, is heavily influenced by all things 80’s. Nikki’s background in performing was with a folk band in the early 80’s which has created her strong vocal and love of harmonies.

When she moved to the Mid-North Coast in 2009, her love of live performing was re-ignited and she developed her solo show – playing acoustic guitar and stomp pedal, playing tunes from 60’s to now.

Teaming up with Andrew, Nikki is looking forward to sharing the joy of the SoundEstate ORSM 80’s Show.
